The 2009 Global Foundation For Integrative Medicines (GFIM) invites practitioners, researchers, and students, from all disciplines of medicine (traditional, allopathic, alternative, and complementary) to submit abstracts for Scientific Papers. Submissions are expected to advance the body of integrative medical knowledge by reporting on significant case studies or by describing therapy results.
*Accepted Papers will be given 20-minutes to present their work and 10 minutes for questions.
1. Mind-Body Medicine (including Meditation, Biofeedback, Yoga, etc)
2. Traditional Medicine, Western Medicine, Eastern Medicine, Bio-Energetic Medicine
3. Botanicals/Herbal Remedies
4. Nutritional aspects of Healing, Nutritional Supplements, and Functional Foods
5. Massage, Bodywork, and other Touch-based Therapies
6. Approaches to the education/training of Practitioners/Students
7. The Practice or Future of Integrative Medicine
8. Energy Medicines and Homeopathy
9. Advances in Allopathic Medicine
Submissions for papers (oral presentations) should include:
Title (should be clear, descriptive and not too long)
Name(s) of presenter(s) (Titles, Degrees, Affiliations)
Complete postal address, telephone number, fax number and e-mail address.
An abstract should not exceed 300 words in length. The abstract should be clear, and describe what is to be presented and structured according to the following: Objectives, Methods and Materials, Results, Conclusion and Recommendations.
Please indicate if any materials or equipment will be required (e.g. Video, PowerPoint,) All submissions will be given to a Peer Review Committee for approval. We encourage electronic submission in Word or PowerPoint Format with Arial 12 pt or Times New Roman 12 pt font size.
